Audley End Miniature Railway
Today we got the train to Audley End and walked 1 and half miles to the Audley End Miniature Railway (http://www.audley-end-railway.co.uk/). We started off doing the fairy walk (£3 per person, under 2s free) which was fab. The girls made a wand and then went around a woodland looking for fairies - it so well done with lots of fairy dust (glitter) everywhere and little doors stuck on trees, animals and fairies to look out for. It really was enchanting and the fairy houses had so much detail in them. Then we went on the little train ride which is 1.5 miles on a 10 ¼” gauge railway whilst looking out for teddies playing in the woodland. There were also some tunnels which were fun. After the ride the girls enjoyed an ice-cream and a quick play in the playground which has some lovely wooden equipment. There is also a children’s vintage roundabout, swingboats and a bouncy castle but you have to pay extra - so much to E's disgust we went home! All in all a great afternoon out
The walk back to the station was full of imaginative play about fairies with lots of wand waving and magis spells being created! I love it when something inspires them all to pay so well together.
