From P's science magazine we explored different kinds of bridges. We used a sponge to replicate a simple beam bridge and looked at how, when we pressed on it, it compressed.
Then we looked at how we could make bridges stronger by building a Truss bridge from marshmallows and cocktail sticks (although I think eating them was the best part of this!)
We then used Lego to make a beam bridge before investigating how turning it into a suspension bridge increased its strength! We saw how many marbles it would take to break them!
