Today we made Rice Krispie Cone Christmas Trees. They were a little fiddly, in terms of making and filling the cones as the marshmallows made them super sticky. I saw another version which used white chocolate so I might try that next time!
Ingredients:
2 packets of Marshmallows
50g butter
200g Rice Krispies,
Green Food Colouring
Other Equipment:
Greaseproof Paper cut into semi-circles,
White Icing in a tube for decorating,
M and Ms, Miniature Reese's Cups, and stars for decorating
Method
1. Cut the Greaseproof Paper into semi
circles and then turn into cones by using the middle of the flat side to create the
point. Fasten with sticky tape.
2.
Melt the marshmallows and butter. Add green gel food colouring until you
have the colour you desire. Add the rice krispies and mix until they are
evenly coated.
3. Spoon the mixture into the cones, pressing down
with the back of a spoon as you go to make sure it is as compacted as
possible. Stand the filled cones point side down in a glass to hold
them, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
4. Once refrigerated, peel off
the parchment paper to reveal your beautiful Christmas Tree! Decorate how you like - we used m and ms, Miniature Reese's Cups and tiny edible stars!
